Monica Morganti Dr Med Vet DACT DECAR MRCVS
Dr. Morganti graduated from the University of Bologna Veterinary School, where she defended her graduation thesis on treatment options for advancing the cyclicity in mares. She spent a couple of breeding seasons working in the Neonatal Intensive care at the University of Bologna and visiting veterinary practices and thoroughbred studs in Victoria, Australia. She then joined the Biasuzzi Standardbred Farm near Venice before starting her residency at the University of California, Davis in order to pursue the specialty certification in Equine Theriogenology. Whilst there, she was able to collaborate with worldwide renowned scientists and to participate in several research projects and get extensive training in all the most modern techniques in Equine Reproduction. In 2011 she was the first Italian diplomate at both the American College of Theriogenology (ACT) and European College of Animal Reproduction (ECAR). Dr. Morganti joined Twemlows Stud Farm in 2012 as the resident Stud Vet and now oversees a team of vets specialised in all aspects of mare reproduction work including artificial insemination, embryo transfer and foal care. She is also responsible for the OPU service and hopes to be able to offer ICSI in the stud's lab in the near future.
