Dr Rosie Allister, BSc Hons, BVSc, MSc, PhD, MRCVS
Rosie has received the British Veterinary Association Chiron Award and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Impact Award for work on veterinary mental health.?Rosie?is the Consultant Manager for Vetlife Helpline, the 24 hour support service for everyone in the UK veterinary community. Her research, based at the University of Edinburgh, looks at veterinary professionals mental health, wellbeing in transitions, and suicide prevention and postvention. She advises a number of national organisations on mental health and suicide prevention. Rosie has volunteered as a listening volunteer with Samaritans for 21 years, and is a trustee of Samaritans in the UK and Ireland.

Debra Archer BVMS PhD CertES DipECVS FRCVS
Debbie is Professor of Equine Surgery and Head of Veterinary Research at the University of Liverpool. She is a European and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Specialist in Equine Surgery and has a PhD on the Epidemiology of Colic and. She was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2017. Debbie combines elective and emergency clinical work, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in her role. Her clinical interests include all aspects of equine emergency care, surgery of the abdomen, head, neck, urogenital tract and skin, laser and laparoscopic surgery and imaging of the head.

James Bailey BVetMed DipECVSMR SFHEA MRCVS
James graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, and moved straight into busy ambulatory practice in Leicestershire. After a few years in primary practice, he moved to the University of Nottingham to begin a residency in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, largely based at Oakham Veterinary Hospital in Rutland, becoming a diplomate of the European college in 2022. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor of Veterinary Sports Medicine at the University of Nottingham. He balances teaching and curriculum responsibilities with the provision of a referral service in lameness and poor performance, again based at Oakham who are one of the vet schools valued clinical rotation partners. His previous research focus has included biomechanics and gait analysis, but currently he is focused on the use of cone beam CT as a primary imaging modality and the use of time budgets in chronic pain research.

Chris Baldwin BVetMed(hons) CertAVP (ESST) (EOS) AFHEA Dip.ECVS MRCVS
Chris graduated from RVC in 2012, undertook a 2-year internship at NEH and then worked in private practice as an ambulatory practitioner. He completed an ECVS surgical residency in private practice (2017-2020) and became an ECVS and RCVS recognised Specialist in Equine Surgery in 2021. Chris has worked at the University of Liverpool, Leahurst Equine Hospital since 2021. Chris is now a Senior Lecturer in Equine Surgery and Head of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Safia Barakzai BVSc MSc DESTS Dipl.ECVS FRCVS
Safia Barakzai graduated from Bristol University in 1998 and spent 2 years working in mixed practice before completing an equine surgical residency in 2003. She stayed in academia for a further 9 years and after that, worked as a surgeon at large equine hospitals in the UK and Ireland. In 2017 she set up her own peripatetic surgical consultancy where she currently works closely with >30 equine practices around the UK and abroad. She is an ECVS diplomate, a RCVS registered specialist in equine surgery, a member of BEVA council and the Chair of the LA Examination Committee for ECVS. She has published over 100 peer review papers in the veterinary literature.

Liz Barr BVMS PhD CertES(Orth) DipECVS MRCVS
Liz qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2000 and subsequently undertook an equine surgical residency and a PhD in osteochondral biology at The University of Liverpool. She is an ECVS Recognised Specialist in Large Animal Surgery and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Equine Surgery (Orthopaedics). After a 10 year period at a large equine clinic, she started her own practice in Kent in 2018 with a case load of predominantly lameness and poor performance issues.
