Being a Student Steward at BEVA Congress means playing an important role in one of the world’s leading equine veterinary events.

The position is fast-paced, hands-on, and highly rewarding. As a steward, you’ll help ensure the smooth running of lectures, practical sessions, social events, and the exhibition, while representing BEVA with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.

What does a Student Steward do?
Student Stewards work closely with the BEVA office team to help deliver a successful Congress. Responsibilities include:

Supporting lecture sessions and speaker requirements

Assisting with the set-up and delivery of wet lab practicals

Helping exhibitors during the build-up and breakdown of their stands

Providing support across the exhibition and event spaces

Assisting with the organisation and running of social events
Stewards work together to coordinate their own schedules, ensuring all areas of Congress are appropriately supported throughout the event. This collaborative role offers valuable experience in event management, teamwork, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and professional engagement within the equine veterinary community. For some veterinary schools, participation may also count towards EMS requirements.
