Ben Benson AWCF Master Farrier  

Ben Benson is a highly skilled farrier with over 20 years of experience, specialising in remedial and performance shoeing. He works with horses at all levels, from leisure horses to elite competition, focusing on improving soundness, movement, and long-term hoof health. Ben works closely with vets and other allied professionals to provide evidence-based farriery solutions, supporting both rehabilitation and performance cases. He was the 77th Farrier to be awarded the Master farrier status by the Worshipful Company of Farriers and is one of only 120 training farriers in the UK. 

As a former President of the British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association and an Approved Farrier Trainer, Ben is committed to the highest standards of equine hoof care. He has provided farriery support to the British Equestrian Federation, Team GB and international riders, working at multiple Olympic Games, including London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo and Paris 2024, where he was the farrier for the Swedish Eventing Team. He has also worked at the World and European Championships and all UK 5* events, including Badminton and Burghley. In addition, he is the Official Farrier for this year’s European eventing championship at Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials. Whether working with top competition horses or everyday riding horses, Ben takes a proactive, professional approach to keeping horses sound, comfortable, and performing at their best.
