April Lawson

 

April Lawson BSc BVSc MSc PhD CertAVP(EM) DipECEIM FHEA MRCVS 


April graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in Veterinary Science (2015) and an intercalated degree in Pathology and Microbiology (2013). An RCVS and European Specialist, she became a Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine in 2021. She holds a master’s degree (2019) and recently completed her PhD (2024) on equine antimicrobial resistance, usage, and stewardship. As part of her PhD, she established the Equine Veterinary Surveillance Network (EVSNET). Her research focuses on equine infectious diseases, parasitology, and antimicrobial use and resistance. April is currently a Senior Lecturer in Equine Medicine and Veterinary Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Liverpool.
