Friday’s programme at BEVA Congress 2025 delivers a rich mix of in-depth clinical learning and big picture thinking, with a strong focus on medicine, nursing, regulation and sustainability.
Hall 5 begins with foal medicine, including antimicrobial use in neonates, managing critically ill foals in the field and updates on kidney injury and meconium impaction. The late morning abdomen session explores weight loss diagnostics, refractory gastric ulceration, acute abdomen red flags and herd level liver disease.
Antimicrobial stewardship is front and centre in the late morning, with contributions from leading voices on surveillance, responsible prescribing and behaviour change, while infectious disease sessions in the afternoon tackle flu, strangles, vaccine hesitancy and new diagnostic tools.
Hall 9 features decision making in dentistry, with practical advice on endodontics, extractions and surgical options, while back pain and sinus disease sessions offer valuable take home knowledge for everyday cases.
Veterinary nurses benefit from a dedicated programme, with practical and progressive sessions covering diagnostics, foal care, orthopaedics and post-operative rehabilitation. The Progressive Nurse Workshop returns with a hands-on, team taught approach to real-world case management.
Other highlights include the President’s Choice surgical series, and timely discussions in Hall 1 on ethics in antimicrobial use, plus the return of the popular Moral Maze, debating horses in sport and public perception.
Friday strikes the perfect balance between high level clinical content and the broader issues shaping equine veterinary practice today.
Book your ticket before the end of the early bird on Wednesday 6 August.
