BEVA Congress 2026 is officially open for booking, with this year’s programme set to be guided by the inspiring theme everyday welfare. The theme reinforces the core purpose of the equine veterinary profession: safeguarding animal welfare in every aspect of practice, from routine procedures to complex clinical challenges.

Inspired by the RCVS oath “above all my constant endeavour will be to ensure the welfare of the animals committed to my care” the theme encourages delegates to think beyond welfare as a response to extreme cases. Instead, it highlights the proactive, continuous decision‑making that underpins good welfare every day.

BEVA President Imogen Burrows explains:

“Everyday welfare supports veterinary teams to look beyond seeing welfare only in the most severe scenarios. We want to encourage proactive, welfare‑focused decisions across daily practice — for horses and for the wellbeing of the teams caring for them.”
