Madeleine Campbell BVetMed(Hons) MA(Oxon) MA (Keele) PGCertVetEd PhD DipECAR DipECAWBM (AWSEL) FHEA FRCVS
Madeleine is Professor of Veterinary Ethics at Nottingham University, where her particular research interests focus on the ethics of the use of animals in sport. Madeleine Chairs the British Equestrian Federation's Ethics and Welfare Advisory Group, Chairs the Greyhound Board of Great Britain's Welfare and Veterinary Science Committee, and is an Independent Member of the FEI's Equine Welfare Advisory Group (having previously been an Independent Member of their Equine Ethics and Wellbeing Commission) and of the British Horseracing Authority's Ethics Panel. She is also an Independent Director of the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, and wrote their welfare strategy 'A good life for every greyhound'. Madeleine developed the Ethical Framework for the Use of Horses in Competitive Sport and is the author of numerous peer-reviewed papers on veterinary and animal ethics and of the book 'Animals, Ethics and Us'. In the wider context of animal welfare, Madeleine Chairs the British Animal Welfare Committee which provides expert, independent advice on the welfare of all kept animals to Defra and the Scottish and Welsh governments.?Madeleine is an equine vet and a keen equestrian: she currently enjoys riding her two Morgan horses - the third and fourth generations she has bred, both of whom she has trained since birth herself.?

Harry is Senior Lecturer and Head of Equine Medicine at Leahurst Equine Hospital, University of Liverpool. After graduating in 2000, he spent his first 5 years working in first opinion mixed and equine ambulatory practice. This was followed by an extended overseas trip of 6 years to New Zealand, where he worked at Massey University and became a diplomate of the ACVIM. On returning to the UK in 2011 he spent 2 years in private practice, before moving to the University of Liverpool. He enjoys all areas of equine medicine, but has particular clinical and research interests in endocrinology and gastroenterology.

Eugenio earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Caceres University, Spain, in 2004. Subsequently, he pursued an internship at a referral hospital in Spain before relocating to the United Kingdom to join the Three Counties Equine Hospital. In 2009, he commenced a residency program in Equine Surgery at Edinburgh University, concurrently undertaking a Master of Research focusing on Equine foot MRI. Following a brief period in private practice, Eugenio returned to academia as a Senior Lecturer in Equine Surgery and assumed directorship of the Scottish Farriery Centre at Edinburgh University. In 2019, he established Esk Veterinary Consultants, where he delivers comprehensive orthopaedic, surgical, and sports medicine services across Scotland. With extensive experience in managing competition horses, Eugenio has a wealth of experience treating competition horses and he currently provides veterinary care at several UK racecourses. He is a recognized European and RCVS Specialist in Equine Surgery and has lectured both nationally and internationally. His special interests are equine surgery and podiatry, and he has a particular interest in sport horses. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, rugby, and mountain biking.

Charles Cooke BSc(Hons) BVetMed Cert(Stud Medicine) MRCVS
Charles qualified in 2000 and worked with Dr Jonathan Pycock at Equine Reproductive Services, Malton, UK and in the Southern Hemisphere for four years. In 2004 he moved to Rossdale and Partners, Newmarket and worked predominately on Thoroughbred studs but was also involved with the breeding of Suffolk Punch horses and Connemaras. After a short time in Somerset he moved back to Yorkshire before rejoining Equine Reproductive Services (UK) Ltd in 2013 becoming a Director in 2016. He completed the RCVS Equine Stud Medicine Certificate in 2008 and has been an honorary lecturer at Liverpool University since 2014 and also lectures regularly at veterinary conferences. He is involved in all aspects of equine stud medicine including natural, artificial insemination and embryo transfer breeding methods on all types of horses and ponies. Aside from the reproductive work he is regularly involved in racing, sport horse and pleasure horse veterinary care.
Charles has an interest in youngstock management and preventative medicine on the stud farm (particularly worm control), treatment of the �sub-fertile� mare, foetal sexing and the management of hormone-related behavioural problems in competition horses.

James Crabtree BVM&S CertEM(StudMed) FRCVS
James graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh in 2001. After four years in mixed practice he transitioned to working in specialist equine stud practice in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. In 2010 he was awarded the RCVS certificate in Equine Stud Medicine and in 2013, he became director of Equine Reproductive Services (UK), a busy first opinion and referral equine practice in Yorkshire. James is recognised as an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Stud Medicine and in 2022 he was awarded the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons diploma of Fellowship for meritorious contributions to clinical practice.
