Celia Marr BVMS, MVM, PhD, DEIM, DipECEIM, FRCVS Celia M Marr graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1985 and she has held positions in the University of Pennsylvania, University of Cambridge and the Royal Veterinary College and worked in racehorse practice in Lambourn. Currently, she is based at Rossdales Equine Hospital and Diagnostic Centre in Newmarket. Celia has published widely on equine cardiac and medical disorders. She is a Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine, Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons,  Honorary Member of British Equine Veterinary Association, Honorary Professor of the University of Glasgow and Editor-in-Chief of Equine Veterinary Journal.

Carolynn Martin BSc (HONS) MSc FIBMS After graduating from Kingston University with a BSc in Applied Biology, Carolynn began her career in the Quality Assurance department of a large pharmaceutical company. She subsequently moved to Worthing Hospital to undertake a training post in the Microbiology Department, where she qualified as a Biomedical Scientist within the NHS. During this time, she completed a Master's degree in Microbiology and became a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science before progressing to a senior role. She later transitioned into the veterinary laboratory sector and has since served as Laboratory Manager at Sussex Equine Hospital for the past 14 years. While she now oversees all areas of the laboratory, her primary area of expertise remains microbiology.

Jonathan McLellan BVMS (hons) MRCVS DACVSMR RCVS Specialist (Eq Sports Med) Dr McLellan graduated with honors from the University of Glasgow (UK) Veterinary School and undertook a surgical internship in Ocala, FL, USA. He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed research articles and continues to pursue his research interests, specifically training-related injuries and rehabilitation. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and an RCVS recognized Specialist in equine sports medicine. He has a special interest in challenging lameness diagnostics and the rehabilitation of sports-injuries. Along with his wife, Dr Sarah Plevin, they pioneered the introduction of UTC ultrasound to the USA, after performing extensive self-funded research using the modality. Dr McLellan’s practice currently specialises exclusively in sports medicine referrals and UTC imaging throughout the USA and UK.

Mattie McMaster DVM, MS, DACVS-LA, DECVS, MRCVS Mattie is an equine surgeon with a special interest in advanced dentistry and head and neck surgery. Based at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, Mattie works within a busy referral hospital managing complex cases including dental disease, sinus pathology, and challenging extractions. Alongside clinical work, Mattie is heavily involved in teaching and enjoys supporting veterinary students and practitioners in developing practical, confidence-driven approaches to equine dentistry. Her current research focuses on dental pathology and restorative techniques, with the aim of improving long-term outcomes in equine patients. Originally from Canada, Mattie brings an international perspective to her clinical and teaching work — and, despite now being based in Scotland, remains a loyal Toronto Blue Jays supporter. She is particularly interested in bridging the gap between evidence and clinical practice, and in promoting a collaborative approach to equine dental care.

Dr. Margo Macpherson DVM, MS, DACT Margo received her DVM degree in 1990 from Michigan State University. She completed a residency and Master's degree in Equine Theriogenology at Texas A&M University and became a Diplomate in the American College of Theriogenologists in 1994. After her residency, Margo practiced at the University of Pennsylvania and in central Kentucky. In 1998, Margo joined the faculty at the University of Florida where she enjoyed teaching, clinical work and an active research program which focused on equine placentitis. Margo has also worked as a locum veterinarian in equine reproduction at Colorado State University. In addition to clinical work, Margo has served in several leadership positions for organizations including the American College of Theriogenologists, the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the World Equine Veterinary Association (WEVA). In 2024, Margo joined the AAEP to develop an experiential learning program called AAEP XP. This opportunity allows Margo to continue her passion for improving horse health by supporting equine veterinarians through high end education.
