Andrew qualified from the Royal (Dick) Vet College, Edinburgh in 1988. After undertaking a 2-year houseman position at the Liphook Equine Hospital he returned to Edinburgh University in 1990 to undertake a residency in Equine Orthopaedics. Following completion of the residency program he remained as a lecturer before leaving in 2020 as Head of Large Animal Orthopaedics. Andrew joined Clyde Vet Group in 2002 and was the founding partner of the Equine Hospital in Lanark. He left this position in 2024 and now runs an equine consultancy business.   Â
Andrew has a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and lameness assessment. He has lectured in the UK and abroad. In 2020 Andrew was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Â
