Speaker Profile: Liesbeth Haegeman

We are really pleased to announce that Liesbeth Haegeman will be speaking at BEVA Congress 2023.

About Liesbeth

Having grown up fascinated by horses, Liesbeth started her professional journey at the University of Ghent, Belgium in 2011 to become a veterinarian. During her studies, she did several extracurricular externships, one of which was at the Equitom Equine Clinic where she fell in love with the very dynamic atmosphere and appealing surgical caseload.

After graduating in 2017 as an equine veterinarian, she completed a rotating internship at Equitom.

After her internship, she stayed to join the surgical department, and in 2022 Liesbeth officially started an ECVS residency in equine surgery. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and, with the team, developed innovative surgical solutions for the treatment of extensive melanomas involving the perineal region in horses.
